Virtual Student Nannies – more about our new remote service supporting parents with home-learning

Written by Tracey Blake

Hi everyone

We hope you are all holding up in these testing times.

We’re parents too, so we know that the thought of home-educating your children amidst all the other stress at the moment is pretty daunting. So we’ve been beavering away to launch a new Virtual Student Nannies service to support parents with home-learning during school closures and social distancing measures.

We are swamped with learning resources for our children to work through at home, but many of us lack the patience, teaching skills or time to action them with enthusiasm on a daily basis for hours at a time. And we all know that children are far more likely to cooperate and less likely to argue with someone who is not their mum or dad!

So you can now book our clever students from top universities remotely by the hour (average fee is £10/hr) as expert study buddies via video link in maths, English, sciences, languages + more.

STEP 1: If you’re not already a Parent Member then sign up here

STEP 2: Search for a Student Nanny in your area with the right skill set to help your child. We’ve got all the academic subjects covered as well as the fun stuff like drama, music and singing. Can’t find the right student near you? Email us at hello@studentnannies.com and we will search our nationwide database for you and send you a shortlist. The great thing about remote learning is that you could book a Violinist in Penzance or an English major in Edinburgh.

STEP 3: Send a booking request to your chosen Student Nanny.

STEP 4: Once you’ve had a booking accepted, send the Student Nanny school work sheets, links to education portals or screen shots of what you’d like the Student Nanny to help your child work through or focus on in their time together. Have a great virtual learning session! (Below is Gabriel, 7, in Manchester, enjoying maths with Virtual Student Nanny Phoebe based in Buckinghamshire!).

This is a new service created on the hoof  to support parents in these rapidly changing times, we welcome all feedback on how we can tweak or improve our remote service at hello@studentnannies.com or call me directly on 07876 391914.

Wishing you all well – keep washing those hands and looking after each other,

Very best,
