Safety

Safety

The safety of the students, parents and children using this platform is of paramount importance to us. So our safety checks are a combination of hi-tech meets the human touch…

*All Student Nannies are ID checked using Yoti (a leading digital ID verification platform)

*All Student Nannies and parents are background checked with Comply Advantage (real-time checks on global Watch Lists, Politically Exposed Persons and Adverse Media)

*Student Nannies are interviewed by a parent or teacher before their profile goes live – some don’t make the cut (we ask a series of questions to check for fluent spoken English, babysitting experience, the ability to think on their feet and a kind, calm manner – all of which help us determine if they are suitable to represent the Student Nannies’ community)

*All Student Nannies are over 18

*All Student Nannies sign up with a verified university/college email address

* All Student Nannies booked and paid through the platform are covered for up to £1m public liability insurance with Zego

We are proud to have a Rights Rules & Responsibilities document for parents  and for Student Nannies . If for some unfortunate reason a Student Nanny or a parent does not behave well by breaching these rules, or if we receive concern from a student or parent, we will remove the profile immediately while we investigate.

And we don’t stop there….

We also ask parents to look for additional credentials on the Student Nannies’ profiles. Profiles will indicate if Student Nannies have a clean DBS check, First Aid certificate, Life Guard qualification etc.

We recommend that you meet your Student Nanny before a sit to ensure you are a good fit and will enjoy working together.

Parents should ask potential Student Nannies for references from other parents who they may have babysat for or nannied for in the past and should verify these by contacting the person giving the reference to ensure they are genuine.

You’ll find lots of advice on Safety on our FAQs page – with tips on where to have your first meeting with a potential Student Nanny to keeping your on-line identity safe and how to check check ID and references.

We also recommend that parents ask if students have a DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service) or, if not, if they’d be willing to undergo one. For peace of mind Student Nannies Ltd can organise an Enhanced DBS check on a potential Student Nanny for you, with their permission. This includes checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings, plus any additional information held by local police that’s reasonably considered relevant to the role being applied for. Aaverage turnaround time from submission of check to receipt of disclosure is just five days. Start your DBS check here

*Student Nannies does not employ students and is independent of all its members’ businesses and although they registered with us and have agreed to abide by our Rights Rules & Responsibilities document  we are not a policing organisation and do not accept any liability for them. Your contract is with your chosen Student Nanny and therefore you should make your own reference checks and rely on your own judgment as to their credibility
